What is the mobile sensing study?
What is the PROSIT Lab? The Mobile Sensing Study is a project being carried out by the Predicting Risks and Outcomes of Social InTeractions (PROSIT) lab at Dalhousie University and the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In our lab, we study everything from youth psychiatry and social media use, to genetics and attentional biases!
For this project, we’re looking for 26-40 year old adults with anxiety problems to help us develop a smartphone app for assessing anxiety. The study will take two weeks to complete, and will involve answering some brief questionnaires about demographics (age, ethnicity, etc.), mental health, and possible substance use habits. Then, we will ask that you use our phone app for 14 consecutive days.
Our goal is to investigate the following research question: does our anxiety tracking phone app reveal differences in how youth and adults experience anxiety? We are recruiting youth separately, through a mental health clinic.
Participants who complete the study will receive $20 for reimbursement.
